Dr. Jonathan Samuels has over 25 years experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. He maintains a private practice in Great Neck, New York.
Dr. Samuels received his B.A. in Psychology from Emory University where he graduated with High Honors. He obtained his doctoral degree from New York University. He also received 2 years of advanced training in family therapy including one year at the Ackerman Institute for Family Therapy and one year at the Minuchin Center for the Family.
Prior to opening his private practice, Dr. Samuels worked for 20 years at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center where he served in various capacities including Director of Family Therapy, Director of Training for the Child Psychology Internship Program, and On-Site Director for the Hewlett High School Alternative Learning Program. He has taught and supervised hundreds of psychiatry and psychology trainees and was twice awarded Teacher of the Year.
In addition to running his practice, Dr. Samuels is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychology at St. John's University.
